Well, here we are back in Texas. The
water has way more bumps and holes
here than in Florida. Our first trip
was a Stetson only trip to break us
in just right. We arrived at Stetson
number 3 at 0600 for a 7AM dive.
Conditions were just right for
Texas, 3.5 foot seas, air temp was
86 degrees under cloudy skies, water
temp was 84 degrees, and many
critters were spotted, including a
silky shark, Eagle ray, several
southern sting rays, spotted morays
and juvenile angelfish. The current
on the surface gradually picked up
over the course of the day but the
bottom current stayed mild and the
water was clear. We moved to Stetson
number 1 for the 4th dive and the
night dive. Stetson lived up to its
reputation and the night dive was
enjoyed by all. We got up this
morning having moved the 200 feet to
Stetson number 4 last night and were
greeted by a thunderstorm with a
spectacular light show. We did
manage one dive in between the
squalls and although nobody saw the
reputed mating silky sharks many
ventured far in search.
