We showed up at Stetson for the annual
monitoring trip with the Flower Garden Banks
staff. What an incredible trip it was. We
had sharks, both silkies and sandbar,
southern stingrays, king and cero mackerel,
3 frogfish, 1 seahorse, multiple turtles,
and the other usual suspects. The official
photographers photographed 6 species that
they hadn’t seen before at Stetson,
including a juvenile golden smooth
trunkfish. The weather was all one could ask
for, with flat calm seas for all but about
two hours, water temp was 83, air temp
around 95, and the sun was out. The crew got
in as many as 11 dives in a 3 day trip, and
a great time was had by all. Captain Frank
